Vitamins are essential and must be present in sufficient amounts for the body to continue to perform its functions properly. They help in keeping diseases at bay. They also aid in the manufacture of hormones and other hereditary components. Vitamins are however required in small portions by the body for it to function as required. For the body to grow normally, healthy portions of vitamins have to be taken.

There are times when the amount that you get from food is not enough therefore you may need to take some supplements. These supplements are manufactured in industries. The supplements are supposed to be taken together with natural foods and not as a substitute for food. Taking more than the recommended amount can lead to serious health complications for you. Before you start taking vitamin supplements, make sure you get adequate information from a dietician.

Natural vitamins can be found in both plants and animals. They have not undergone any form of processing before being consumed by humans. There are however no guidelines to taking these vitamins. The only thing is an indicator is that the body remains healthy. For an average person, a certain number of vitamin nutrients in take are required daily. Diseases that occur from a deficiency of vitamins can be prevented if the right amounts of vitamins are taken daily.

There are several types of vitamins that you are supposed to take and each of them serves an important function in the body. Vitamin B1 helps the body to break down fats and use them as energy.
