How is a Healthy Energy Drink Helpful to you?

By Julieanne van Zyl

Why would people opt for the more popular energy drink, instead of a healthy energy drink? In the quest for greater energy levels, many people have opted for the speedy solution that may have minimum benefits but long-term side effects - energy drinks. Energy drinks which are frequently loaded up with caffeine and sugar among numerous other ingredients and energy boosting compounds are used to increase the energy levels of people who train in the gym or even the ordinary man who just has desires of increasing his stamina and endurance on the job.

For some folks, they require energy drinks because of the ability to help them enhance their concentration and alertness on the job. Whatever the desires are, energy drinks are best when take in moderate quantities. But when it becomes the "solution" to tiredness and bodily weaknesses, which are a consequence of hard work, then there is something wrong.

Energy drinks are not meant to keep you awake or to help you keep pushing to the limit. They are meant to give you the increased energy levels that you need so that you can stay a little longer at your task and finish it up. When taken in moderate quantities, there isn't any likely chance of it becoming dangerous.

But when too many cans are drunk, it can cause side effects like petulance, insomnia and tachycardia - increased pulse rate- that are normal with excessive coffee intake. Energy drinks are not intended to provide the one stop solution to recurrent tiredness and bodily weakness. Drinking a healthy energy drink, eating well and getting enough sleep, can effortlessly solve these things.

Can I Keep Taking Energy Drinks For Increased Stamina?

Many times fitness buffs will take energy drinks just to keep them going when training or just to give them the perk they need when they do not feel like training. Energy drinks which are very common and popular these days as a result of the media exposure they have had and the supposed "miracle" solutions with promises of instant energy and strength, has become the favorite drink of many. Whether it is just for the taste or an instant energy boost, energy drinks are commonly found everywhere. Examples of the popular energy drinks are Monster, RedBull, Rockstar, Power horse, Power Fist, XS, and Go Fast.

While energy drinks are very good for the short-term effects they do provide, it is not good to take them long-term mostly because of their components. One of the very common ingredients found in all energy drinks is caffeine. While some argue that the sugar based energy drinks give a lot more boost, it has been proven that caffeine is the major component responsible for the concentration improvement and hyperactivity.

Like taking caffeine, an increased usage of these energy drinks will offer you diminishing returns and increased dependence on the energy drink. This will cause the accurate opposite of the results you are looking for. Most frequent users of energy drinks become addicted to it as a productof the caffeine content existing in the drink.

So, whatever the reason for taking energy drinks, let them be used as a supplement or support of a healthy lifestyle for balanced results. There is always the option of taking a healthy energy drink too, especially if it is really a nutritional supplement with an energy blend. - 17268
