Remarkable Anti Aging Benefits Of Resveratrol And The Acai Berry

By Christine G Roberts

Resveratrol has in recent times been in the news. It is a polyphenol that is found in considerable quantities in red wine, selected berries including the blueberries and the acai berry, grape skins and grape juice. Polyphenols are usually in peak great quantity in the skins of the grapes and the pigment of the berries.

In a recent show on anti-aging on Oprah, Dr. Mehmet Oz talked about resveratrol and even suggested supplementing with this influential antioxidant. However, he did say that there have been no controlled studies on humans regarding this nutrient. He also did not give any direct endorsement to any product but only emphasized his faith in the healthiness promoting and anti-aging advantages of this influential antioxidant.

Resveratrol has been considered to be a possibility for the French paradox. The French tend to eat high-fat foods yet they have superior health and less cardiovascular diseases than other countries. Many studies have considered this wellbeing disparity and many judge that resveratrol may be part of the rationale why they benefit from superior health.

The majority of the exploration that has been conducted on resveratrol has been done on animals and not humans. Oftentimes when a significant advantage is found in the animal studies it soon translates to have a parallel outcome on humans, nonetheless, there have yet to be experiments conducted on the effects of resveratrol on humans so at this time it is still indefinite how the benefits of resveratrol will influence humans.

In the investigational studies on mice, the groups that were given resveratrol were more protected from obesity and diabetes. Both obesity and diabetes are powerful risk elements for heart disease. Then again, it is very fascinating to note that in order to reach the same levels of resveratrol that the mice were given, a human being would have to devour as many as 100 to 1000 bottles of red wine day after day, which is not possible not to mention that all of the advantages would be cancelled out owing to the injurious effects of excessive alcohol.

Further examination shows that resveratrol could be beneficial in reducing inflammation and blood clotting, both of which can be a risk factor for heart disease. More exploration is needed to know if this antioxidant was accountable for the reduced risk or if it could be another factor or combination of factors.

Even without the benefit of confirmed scientific studies, a lot of experts are recommending supplementation with resveratrol because of the likely benefits. You can take a supplement or you can also get resveratrol from including nourishing food in your daily diet.

Red wine, grape juice, grapes, blueberries, cranberries and all of the acai berry products all have major amounts of resveratrol along with a host of other nutrients that can work together synergistically. Including these beneficial foods in your daily diet can be very beneficial. - 17268
