The 13th Article...Getting Started on HCG!

Today was the first day of my 25 day stint on the HCG diet. The first two days are loading days so today was a piece of cake; almost literally! (I didn't have any cake, but it would have been a good idea).

That means that for the first two days you're supposed to eat as many high fat and high calorie foods as possible; thus the name "loading." It was pretty enjoyable to eat whatever I want and for once reach for the yummiest thing on the table instead of the thing that I should probably have instead. Nice! Maybe by tomorrow night I'll be so sick of all the high fat, high calorie food that I'll be more than ready to cut back to 500 calories for the remainder of the 25 day diet. I can hope, right?

The homeopathic HCG protocol explains the loading days as necessary for the body to use in absorbing the HCG. So who am I to question it? It's not like "loading" wasn't a lot of fun! Although you aren't asked to do the low calorie diet on the first two days (far from it) you are asked to take the oral drops three times daily as you will when you're on the low calorie diet. And I did. So that's good. I thought I'd have a hard time remembering, but it wasn't too bad. Then again, it was only the first day.

You have to store the homeopathic HCG weight loss formula in a cool place. That little requirement could be problematic if you need to transport it (to work or on a trip, etc.) but since it's winter I don't foresee a problem. Even if I do have to transport it somewhere...it's still going to be in a cool place. That's just a little side thought; a bonus for doing the HCG diet in the winter!

I woke up first thing in the morning and weighed myself (170) and then went about the day making sure that there was plenty of fun foods around for loading. I called Lisa and she also started the diet as planned. So far we're pretty happy with our decision to start the day before Thanksgiving because Thanksgiving is probably the MOST perfect loading day all year long. If you need advice on what type of foods to have during loading here are some that you could try: queso and chips, tamales, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, apple pie, cheese, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream, chocolate shakes, cake...anything you think is yummy basically. (I secretly just wanted to think about all my favorite food indulgences one more time before I go without!)

So I've successfully completed my first day on the HCG diet. It was absolutely easy. Although I fear the low calorie part of it is going to be a much more difficult prospect for me. But for today...I don't have to worry about that. It's all about loading! - 17268
