Article 12: Tomorrow's the Day!

By Amelia Handley

Tomorrow is the day! I'm starting the HCG diet. I'm going to follow the HCG protocol diet for 25 days. I ordered my HCG from HCG Diet Direct. They've got a homeopathic HCG weight loss formula that sounds great. My friend Lisa has agreed to do the diet with me so I'll have a bit of added inspiration (it's just healthy to have competition, right?) I've gone through the HCG protocol diet booklet outlining the rules and basics and I've read up on a bunch of healthy hints and tips.

Today the plan is to read through the manual one more time (as I've said in previous articles...it's short and sweet). That way I'll be clear on the HCG protocol diet so nothing surprises me tomorrow. I also need to go to the grocery store. I'm very glad that they provided a sample shopping list because while the diet is very limited...it's still different enough from my normal routine that I'm a bit unsure how to start. So I've got my shopping list and I'm off to the store.

I am finally back at home after running out to the store. That was the worst timing EVER. I forgot that everyone is there right now getting their forgotten items for Thursday's big feast. I guess that's one negative that I've discovered about starting the diet the day before Thanksgiving. You have to shop for your fresh produce right in the midst of the crazy holiday bustle.

But that is finished now and I'm now fully prepared to start my HCG protocol diet. Tomorrow's the day before Thanksgiving and Lisa and I both agreed to go ahead as planned first thing in the morning. (Lisa is my buddy that is doing the diet at the same time as me. Whoever loses the most weight gets a free pair of jeans courtesy of the other; good side bet, right?) I still can't see a downfall of the timing we chose for the diet. Thanksgiving has to be the most perfect loading day. Thanksgiving food is pretty much all fatty and yummy and good in large portions. It's the perfect send off to the low calorie days that will follow.

I've read many comments from other dieters saying that it's really, really important not to allow yourself to get hungry without something already available to eat. Eating HCG healthy makes just jumping in the fridge (or the nearest drive thru) to grab a quick lunch nearly impossible. You have to prepare ahead since you need a lot of fresh produce and meat (you know...the kind you have to cook yourself; not the kind sliced up really thin in little plastic packages in the cheese aisle). So that's why I braved the masses at the grocery store today and got everything on the list: all the approved spices, fresh fruits and vegetables and a few different kinds of "approved" meats from the meat counter.

And since I'm all ready to go with nothing left to do to prepare for the diet...I'm off to enjoy today. It's my last no diet day for the next few weeks. Happy early Thanksgiving! - 17268
