The Firms Wave A Great New Piece Of Exercise Equipment

By Carol J Bartram

The Firm Wave is a recently-developed item that can be used for exercise both at home and in a gym environment. The design of the Firm Wave is simple but the concept is brilliant " a light, portable unit of heavy duty moulded plastic which can be easily stored and transported and has one side that is fixed and the other side is unstable.

You can use the Firm Wave to do lots of different exercises on, as it has holes on either side for the attachment of flexible bands, which are used to tone and strengthen different muscle groups. Your Firm Wave can be used for cardio exercise for fat burning and weight loss, toning for muscle building, and sitting or lying on it you can work on your core muscles by doing Pilates exercises.

You would have to use lots of different machines to get as good a workout as the Firm Wave will give you. To get the best out of your exercise you need to combine cardio work with exercises to strengthen and tone specific muscles, and you also need to work your abdominal and back muscles and finish your workout by stretching. The Firm Wave can do all these things and is suitable for use by any age group.

The anchored side of the Firm Wave has a curve; step up onto this and you stand on the crest of the Wave. Doing simple step-up and step-down exercises strengthens the major thigh and butt muscles, works the calves, and stabilises all the little muscles of the ankles and feet. Stepping also burns a surprising number of calories and is more energetic than you think - try going to a Step class and you'll see what I mean. As well as simple step up and down, there are also step touches, step lunges, step kicks and knee lifts, and also crossing over the Wave from side to side, which brings the inner and outer thigh muscles into play as well.

And that's only a fraction of what you can do with the amazing Firm Wave; flip it over, stand on it and rock your way to fitness!. Using this side of the Wave means you engage all your deep core and postural muscles just to stop yourself falling over. Challenging your balance makes your body work harder and thus burns more calories while improving your overall posture and general stability. No matter what your age, the Firm Wave can benefit you! - 17268
