Organic Food is it the better Choice?

By Kiiera Success Group

Since organic food started to gain popularity in the late 1990s, people have been skeptical about the superiority of organics. Many people claimed that the benefits of organic over traditional products could not be proven. The truth is that there had simply not been enough testing done to prove the benefits of organic products or the drawbacks of traditionally produced food.

There have been various studies done to show the improved nutritional value of organic agriculture by analyzing the vitamin, nutrient, and mineral content of both organically and traditionally grown produce. There are significantly higher levels of various components in organic products, including:

* Chromium, prevents hardening of the arteries and type 2 diabetes * Calcium and Boron, build strong bones and prevent osteoporosis * Lithium, a common chemical in antidepressants and mood stabilizers * Salicylic acid, an anti-inflammatory which can prevent heart disease * Antioxidants, protect cells from damage * Magnesium, helps prevent death during a heart attack * Selenium, helps prevent heart disease and certain cancers * Vitamin C, builds the immune system

While this list seems rather long, its not complete. While these nutrients have been found organic produce, they arent the only ones. This list could also get longer as more research is done about the nutrient benefits of organic food.

While its important to look at the beneficial properties of organic food, we must take into account the harmful effects of traditionally grown foods to fully understand why organic food is superior. When many of the chemicals used in farming were approved, there had been little research to show whether or not these chemicals we harmful. Research has since found that most of these chemicals have negative effects on humans. Non-organic foods have been analyzed and have been found to contain harmful chemicals, heavy metals, solvents, and various hormones. Some of the conditions linked with these substances include:

* cancer * heart disease * osteoporosis * migraines * hyperactivity * decreased intelligence * impaired hearing * less growth in childhood * anemia * Alzheimers * multiple sclerosis * rheumatoid arthritis * early puberty * increase in antibiotic-resistant disease strains

Again, this list is just part of the harmful side effects of these chemicals. There are likely many more conditions to be added to this list after more research is done. Also, most of the research has been done on the affects of single chemicals, and not multiple offenders as are normally found on conventional food. While several of these chemicals have been banned, they are still present in regular and organic food. This is because they linger in the soil; some have been there for over 20 years.

While there are obviously many benefits to organic agriculture, it is not without its faults. First of all, organic products are more expensive. Depending on where you buy organic food, it could cost twice as much as regular grocery store brands. There is also concern that natural fertilizers such as plant material and manure could contain harmful organisms, such as e coli. Although this can be rare it can also make consumers very sick.

Even with the drawbacks, organic food production is proving to be much safer for consumption than other foods available. Along with the health benefits, organic agricultural practices also benefit the environment; keeping it viable for years to come. - 17268

Can YOU Achieve Results with No Nonsense Muscle Building?

By Caitlin Ryan

So many choices, so little time! There are so many muscle-building programs on the internet today that choosing one can be very confusing. In deciding whether one is right for you, you have to keep in mind three factors.

First you need to decide whether the muscle building program was designed by a reputable trainer. Second, you must make sure that the program is designed around proven techniques. And last but not least, you need to make sure that the program can be tailored to fit YOUR needs and YOUR lifestyle.

Vince Delmonte developed the No Nonsense Muscle Building Program. He has had years of experience as a fitness trainer and he himself is a picture of perfection in terms of muscle and fitness. His physique is cut, chiseled and rock hard with 10% body fat.

Shannon Clark is the co-author and highly influential fitness writer. She also trains and has BPP in sports performance. Shannon is also in excellent physical shape with a cut, lean, muscular figure.

The no nonsense muscle building program is designed around several key methods in bodybuilding. First, they use the idea of progressive overload, which is used by serious body builders worldwide. Progressive overload simply means that you need to continuously increase the amount of weight you use to challenge the muscles. Without this, you will not increase your muscle mass to form those sexy curves.

Recovery is also emphasized in this muscle-building program. When you do not rest muscles in between sets, you produce endurance muscles, which will be long and skinny. You also risk injury when you do not rest your muscles adequately in between workouts. Vince guides you through proper nutrition and advice on sleep guidelines to speed up this process and avoid excessive release of cortisol. Excessive amounts of cortisol from stress have been found to cause weight gain especially in the abdominal region.

Vince disagrees with the majority of the bodybuilding industry in that he discourages the use of supplements to increase muscle mass. There is no supplement (whether it is a big tub of powder, a bottle of pills, or a liquid shake) that replaces adequate training and proper nutrition in building peak muscle mass.

Your goals may be as simple as shedding body fat and toning your muscles to promote an athletic and healthy physique. Your goals may be to improve your muscle mass and win that next bodybuilding competition. Whatever your goals, Vince designed his no-nonsense body building program to help the beginner, the amateur and the professional bodybuilder achieve their goals.

Motivation is important in the physical fitness arena, and Vince and Shannon have certainly provided some very good motivational tools. They also go over the importance of clean eating and give you clever advice on how you can achieve proper nutrition.

They shock the reader and bust open fitness industry myths and exploitations. I was surprised to find out that the majority of top muscle building and fitness magazines are actually owned by supplement companies. - 17268

Work It and It Will Grow: Building Muscle the Easy Way

By Rudy Longfellow

Our nation is at an imperative spot in life where fitness is not just a choice but a necessity. More and more people are choosing the sedentary lifestyle over the lifestyle of fitness. This is causing our people to become more and more overweight with each passing year. The choice to change that fact is rooted in physical fitness routines and routines that build muscle and thus increase the bodies metabolism naturally.

The rules of how to build muscle are simple and straightforward, but are some of the most unrecognized rules in physical fitness. Many people have no idea how muscle is built and this knowledge can immensely increase the chance of making the routine more rewarding and beneficial.

Get that muscle ready. Stretching is one of the most important parts of a program aimed to build muscle. The muscle will need to be warmed up before it can go through the stages of building. As with any fitness program, stretching requires careful movements that are elongated and held in order to increase the blood flow to the muscle. To build muscle that blood flow is essential and necessary.

Drink for muscle build. Drinking water is essential for every day life and not just for those trying to build muscle. Fitness programs often suggest a daily intake of 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water per day. This is a minimum requirement. In order to build muscle, many muscle building magazines aim at higher amounts of hydration up to 1 gallon per day.

Rip it. When attempting to build muscle through fitness, the muscle needs to be ripped, literally. Muscles growth is created when a muscle is torn and then rebuilds itself. To build muscle, the exercise will need to cause small rips in the muscle fibers and then allow those rips to heal and thus building the muscle mass needed to increase strength and metabolism. It is also important to note that stretching after a routine to build muscle can help to release the lactic acid build up in the muscle and thus remove some of the pain associated with the workout.

Repair it. After ripping the muscle, the body will need to be given time to repair in order to build muscle. Fitness programs require a 24 hour wait time between working major muscle groups to be effective. That means once you have whaled on those chest muscles, give them a 24 break before whaling again.

Repeat. The key to fitness programs that build muscle is consistency. The careful pattern of rip and repair needs to be repeated over and over again to keep the muscle building. It can take up to a month to build one pound of muscle, but the time is well worth it. For every pound of muscle built, the body will naturally burn between 30 and 50 additional calories per day.

To build muscle is to increase the overall fitness level of the body. Routines that build muscles are often aimed at building that muscles as quickly as possible. The true art of the muscle build takes time and attention to details. These tips will help even the most novice fitness guru to build muscle and keep that strength growing over time. The natural way to build muscle takes a bit of dedication to the fitness program, but after a few short weeks, when the difference is clear, the work will be so much more rewarding. - 17268

Rip and Repair: Building Muscle the Right Way

By Rudy Longfellow

One of the most important aspects of life is physical fitness. The fitness routines we choose to work into our every day lives can help to build muscle and thus increase strength and metabolism. With more and more people falling into the definition of obese or overweight, the time to build muscle and become more physically active through fitness is now and everyone needs to jump on the band wagon.

Very few people actually understand how the body can build muscle. The art of fitness is surrounding in cardio and aerobic exercise and even some of the most avid fitness people have little idea of how the body chooses to build muscle. These rules are simple, but effective.

Ready the muscle. From the first moments of beginning a routine to build muscle, the fitness program needs to incorporate stretching. Stretching the muscle increase the blood flow to the muscle and thus increase the chances of good muscle build. Stretching also helps to prevent injuries to the muscle while cold by warming up the muscle fibers and allowing for a longer movement during the fitness routine.

We all need to build muscle in order to make the most of our fitness goals. Them ore muscle we build, them ore our metabolism will burn and the better shape we will remain in throughout our lives. The aim of a fitness program to build muscle needs to be rotted in these rules, because the knowledge of how a muscle builds will make the task to build muscle more quick, easy and efficient. - 17268

Cholesterol ! Too Much ? Not Enough ?

By P.G Mayora

By Paul Mair www.Pure-Health-Nutrition.com These days people are becoming ever more aware of the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyle, with thousands of people turning to vegetarianism every week, and looking to good nutrition instead of relying on drugs to prevent and cure ailments and diseases as well as keeping healthy.

In this day and age with environmental and lifestyle factors having just as much of a profound effect on health as nutrition and diet has. This is all well and good, but the problem is that the vast majority of these people have very little or no understanding or knowledge of what they really need to do for perfect health, nutrition and how it effects the body and its processes.

They think that lots of fresh fruit and vegetables is enough because of the constant reminders by experts on TV telling them 5 portions of fruit & veg a day and to a certain extent this is absolutely true, but that is only the tip of the iceberg as far as keeping your mind and body in the best condition possible.

There are many more things that the general public need to know, as it is very confusing, because you have scientists or experts telling you one week that this good for you and then a short time latter telling you that it is not. Even with foods that are universally considered healthy there are still so many contradictions. I would like go through and talk about some of these things in turn. Things that they should know, but dont! First off is cholesterol

I think that most people have a basic understanding of what cholesterol is, that it is a fat related substance that circulates in the blood, too much of which clogs the arteries and is caused by bad diet and too much saturated fats and that high is bad and low is good.

But as we know cholesterol is essential for good health. It is a normal component of most body tissues, especially those of the brain, nervous system, liver and blood. The vast majority of which ends up in the cells where it is needed to perform vital metabolic and structural functions. Some is changed into vitamin D, some is bonded with protein, making lipoprotein.

These lipoproteins are the circulating form of cholesterol. Most people know that there are two forms of cholesterol, high density lipoprotein (HDL) which is the good one. This kind transports from the cells back to the liver where it can be disposed of. Then there is low density lipoprotein (LDL) the bad kind, this is the one that clogs the arteries.

When there is high amounts of (LDL) that is when the problems start, disorders such as coronary heart diseases (heart attack, high blood pressure etc). But on the other hand at the other end of the scale, very low cholesterol can be just as bad ! For example it can lower testosterone levels and according to one Japanese research group , once cholesterol levels go below a certain point the risk of strokes are increased. A finnish researcher named Jykri Penttinen found that low levels were associated with higher rates of depression and suicides. It has also been documented that people with low cholesterol have higher risk of getting Parkinsons disease and women with low levels are at risk of premature births . All of which means that people need to find a middle ground and that some cholesterol is need for health . But not to much ! - 17268

Do You Want Bigger Arms

By Jason King

You want a pair of sleeve ripping muscular biceps that commands attention wherever you go? If you're looking for the answer to that question, you must first realize that building big arms involves a few key conditions that have to be adhered to consistently, only then will you get the best results. Blindly lifting iron in the gym - performing endless sets of bicep curls ain't gonna cut it. Here are the key conditions that must be met to boost your chances of attaining muscular biceps.

Too many gym users are performing set after set of exercises where the weight they're using is too light, and this is sending their progress backwards. Training with heavy weights enables you to place a huge amount of stress on your biceps causing more muscle fiber recruitment and more blood pumping into the biceps.

While using heavy weights is important for building big arms, it's also important that you use good form to get the best results possible. Swinging the weight so you can lift more than you normally can won't help your arms grow.

The number of sets and reps that you're able to do per exercise can help determine whether the weights that you use are sufficiently heavy. The ideal rep range is 5 to 7 per exercise, and you only need to do 2 different exercises. This means that the weights should be heavy enough for you to complete 5 to 7 reps with proper form - that's it. If you can go past 7 reps then you need to increase the weight. Over training your biceps is easy, and this rep and set range prevents any over training.

Without adequate calories, building big arms would be a far fetched task. This means eating more calories than your burning, and probably more calories than you're eating at the moment. You want to get most of your calories from protein and complex carbohydrates. It's important to eat fat as well, but just eat fat that is healthy, so avoid saturated fats.

To get muscular biceps, you must train your entire body. Training other body parts with enough intensity would trigger what is known as "the spillover effect" which adds more mass on your arms. When your whole body gets stronger so will your biceps, and then they will grow. - 17268

Is It Hard To Lower Fat Growth While Building Muscle?

By Rob Molloy

People who do bodybuilding often attempt to bulk up to get larger, but sometimes they also gain more than just muscle, they gain a bit of cushioning too. This happens many times to those who are involved in competing. These competitors work like mad before an event to lose their fat. The secret is though not to put the fat on to start with because you risk losing muscle while you are trying to get rid of just the fat. Here is an easy plan to add muscle without gaining unwanted pounds.

You need to realize that you should only put on about one pound of muscle every 2 weeks. If you are gaining more than that you may be putting on fat instead. If you notice you are rapidly putting on weight, then examine the quantity of food you are consuming. Be sure that you are eating the recommended amount of the foods that are appropriate for your workout regimen. This does not hold true for everyone, but make sure you check everything out, in the event you are rapidly gaining weight.

One thing that will help you achieve your body building goals is to have the right diet. It is easy for a routine to turn into a rut. You alternate your weightlifting program, why shouldn't you alternate your diet program. A good muscle building program will include days that you take off because your body needs a chance to recuperate and to repair the muscles that you have torn apart in your workouts. You should also give your body a chance to recover from the rigid diet that you have been putting it through for the week. Rest is good for the mind and so is allowing a couple days of freedom from your strict diet. If you take a 5 day on - 2 day off approach to your diet, not only will your weekends be more fun (if you schedule the 2 days off correctly) but you will also be doing something good for your body.

You should be eating several times a day instead of 3, actually about 5 meals a day is good. This way your body does not go into save mode like when you are trying not to eat. You also need to follow the formula of 1 part good fat, 2 parts of protein (essential for building muscle), and 3 parts of the energy giving carbohydrates.

Having the correct work out regimen will also assist you in adding muscle without gaining fat. You need to be doing 10 to 15 minutes of aerobics prior to you working out. This will get your body loosened up for the workout ahead along with burning off some fat, and as a bonus it is great for your heart. But do not go longer than this or it will not help you build muscle.

Long periods of aerobic activity may make you a marathon runner but it won't put muscle on you. More muscle means more calories are being burned. Make sure you stretch for a bit after your aerobic activity and before you get into the main part of your muscle building workout.

You should keep a record of your workouts and everyday you need to gear your workout to a specific group of muscles. You need to step it up a notch each time you workout. When you keep a record of your workouts it makes it easy to do this. Each day Monday - Thursday work on a different muscle group then on Friday workout all body parts.

With your workout, pyramid the sets and make the one in the middle have more weight than the first and last ones. You need push your body. With the first set you prepare the body for the heavier set of #2 and then with the third set you cool your body down. You can also pyramid your reps within the sets too. The first rep do the most, the middle you make them harder but fewer, and then the third one is the cool down where you do the same reps as the first.

If you use these tips to come up with your workout regimen by honing it to your particular body needs, you will soon see that this is the best method for adding muscle minus gaining the fat. - 17268

How To Build Shoulder Muscle, Want The Perfect V Fast?

By Jack R Brown

Want the perfect V, want a muscular well toned body of a God. Keep reading to know how to build shoulder muscle, develop the perfect V and have "Cannon Ball Delts". Work smart, working too hard will have the opposite effect.

You want to look great in clothes and of course with out clothes, or you would be looking for shoulder pads not how to build shoulder muscle.

The function of lifting and rotating the arms is achieved with the 3 headed muscle in the shoulder. This consists of the anterior (front), the medial region (middle) and the posterior region(rear) These heads can stimulated by using two different movements in the gym, an over head press and a raise.

The meat and potatoes of effective building shoulder muscles is the over head press, both the barbell and dumb bell can be used for this, but dumbbells are the best.

One arm will not be albe to cheat the other with dumbbells as they allow a more natural motion range. Sit on a bench, preferably with a vertical support for your back. Press the dumbbells over your head, do not lock out the elbows, return them to shoulder level.

The basic side lateral raise is preformed with the dumbbells. The medial head will feel the stress of the side laterals. Greater shoulder width and wider upper body will be achieved.

Hold the dumbbells with palms facing inwards, stand with the knees slightly bent. Bend the arms slightly, raise the weights to shoulder level then return to the original position,

Basically the overhead press and side lateral raise is all you need to build shoulder muscles. It is not recommended to preform isolation exercises on the anterior and posterior heads. You will not achieve maximum result by working the shoulder muscles too hard.

The key for how to build shoulder muscle is Quality not quantity.

Here is a sample routines to build shoulder muscles.

Stand, Dumbbell Side Laterals- 2 Sets of 10 Reps Sit, Sitting Overhead Dumbbell Press- 2 Sets of 6 Reps.

I don't recommended to isolate muscles, but if you wish you can include, Standing Front Dumbbells Raise " 1 set of 12 Reps Seated Rear Lateral Dumbbell Raise " 1 set of 10-12 reps.

Not recommended to isolate muscles, but this can be achieved by Standing Front Dumbbells Raise " 1 set of 12 Reps Seated Rear Lateral Dumbbell Raise " 1 set of 10-12 reps.

Keeping a detailed records of each of your workouts, to build up number of reps and resistance, improving each week. - 17268

Want to Have a Better Brain?

By Michael Byrd

Are you pleased with your brains? Or are there times when you think you could have made wiser decisions, think better than you used to or simply won't forget things?

We all want a smarter brain, right? We always dread the day when forget things, are not able to make wise enough decisions or simply cannot seem to think better.

If that is the case then you should start eating more fish and take Omega 3 supplements. The right kind of fish and Omega 3 supplements can give you a smarter and better brain.

Omega 3 fish oil with EPA and DHA is a healthy brain food for each and every one of us including babies and children. As a matter of fact we already need Omega 3 fish oil the moment we are conceived because 70% of a newborn's brain is made of EPA and DHA and these are the main components of the nervous system of a new baby.

Scientific research has proven that high quality fish oil can positively affect the various areas of your emotional, mental, and physical health. This is quite important since it affects your relationships with other people, your financial future, the way that you feel and your health, too.

Studies reveal that taking omega 3 fish oil can possibly prevent stress related diseases like those of people undergoing psychological pressure. Furthermore, Japanese research found that students using premium quality fish oil supplements had grown less irritable, irrational and defensive and even got better grades.

More studies tell us that cases of depression were reduced in countries with high omega 3 fish consumptions. As a result, increased incidence of suicide, depression and violence were associated with low levels of DHA.

This is not all. Age-related memory loss can be reduced and the risk of getting Alzheimer's disease can be avoided by high intake of fish oil. Patients with Alzheimer's disease can improve the quality of their lives too if they start taking omega 3 fish oil.

The benefits of using fish oil supplements have increased over the years. Research at Harvard Medical School has successfully used fish oil supplements in treating bipolar disorder and manic depression. In Britain, scientific studies showed positive effect in treating schinzophrenia.

So, do you still want to have a better brain? If you answered yes, then the only smart thing for you to do is to start eating more fish and start taking high quality omega 3 fish oil supplement with EPA and DHA. - 17268
