A good rep scheme to use with this could be 3-4 sets of 8 reps for each exercise, or more sets for less reps, such as 5 sets of 5 reps of each exercise. Instead of counting the number of reps, you can do mountain climbers for say 30 seconds.

Renegade dumbbell rows

Start in a pushup position with the hands on 2 dumbbells. Row with one arm holding a dumbbell while stabilizing your body with the one on the floor. After you bring the dumbbell back to the ground, stabilize your body with that arm while lifting the other arm in a rowing motion. You have to use all your abdominals to stabilize your body during the rowing motion. Trust me on this... your abs will get a real good workout!

Front squats

These are similar to back squats, however with the barbell in front of your body on the front of your shoulders instead of resting on the upper back as in back squats. Hold the barbell on the front of your shoulders, with your right knuckles pressing into your left shoulder and your left knuckles into your right shoulder, while keeping your elbows pointing away from your body.

You may not get the form right immediately, but with practice and some help from a trainer, you will get it right. You wil really have to use your abs to stabilize your body during front squats. This looks like just a leg workout, but your abs will get a big workout too!

Mountain climbers

Start in a pushup position and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are moving in under your chest and then back out to starting position. It is kind of like climbing a mountain, but you are on a flat floor. For a more intense version, move your hands back and forth about 8-10 inches while you are doing the leg movements. Compared to standard mountain climbers, these are more difficult, and will work your whole body.

Let your body recover for about 30 seconds between each exercise. After each superset, rest about 1-2 minutes.

Your abs will get a great workout and you won't be doing any direct ab exercises. I am confident you will see what I mean after you give it a try! - 17268

If you have ever considered buying a treadmill and actually did the research, you will notice there are a lot of brands and each brand has a huge list of models. For many, a treadmill is a big purchase starting at $700 and upwards beyond $3000 a piece. So, here are a couple keys to look out for when shopping for a treadmill.

The most important part of the treadmill is the motor. This should be the primary focus of your research. It needs to be durable enough to meet your demands, especially if you intend on using the treadmill heavily. A treadmill that will be used on a regular basis will need a 2.5 CHP motor at a minimum.

The next thing to look at will determine whether you enjoy running on your treadmill. Take a look at the deck. It is the part that you will be pounding on and sits just underneath the belt. Ideally, there should be rubber or polymer cushions under the deck. More shock absorption will make your running easier.

For a range of workouts, and to increase the intensity, most treadmills come with an incline feature. Look out for this when shopping because the range of the inclination depends on the model of the treadmill. For more strenuous workouts, the incline simulates running uphill.

People love numbers as much as they love to know that they are making effort and progress. To measure effort most treadmills come with a heart rate monitor built into the machine. It works by reading your pulse off your hands when you grab the rail in front of you. Of course this isn't a natural way to run so only do this occasionally to check your heart rate and otherwise let your hands swing naturally as they should.

To help people measure their progress, most treadmills offer a calorie counter. The only problem is that many have been reported to be overly optimistic so it works as a guide but never as a rule.

The most important thing, your insurance against any problems is the warranty. Look for manufacturer warranties that will back up their treadmills for a decent length of time. Exercise videos are here to stay. We like them because they make our lives easier, are inexpensive, and allow us the privacy to ease into a healthy lifestyle at our own pace. But what are pros for others become a major con for some especially those who need a more social environment to keep them going.

Remember the Jane Fonda exercise video craze? Or how about Suzanne Somers? And who can forget Richard Simmons?

Nowadays, there's belly dancing, pilates, yoga, tae bo the list goes on. No doubt exercise videos have made their mark on us that's why they are still around.

First on the pro list is convenience. Exercise videos don't require much trouble and effort on our part. We don't even need to leave our homes and get hassled driving or dealing with the weather, traffic, parking, and gym sales staff. Just clear a space, press play and workout anytime.

What about the cost of the workouts? At an average of U$20 per video, doing the video 3x a week for 2 months gets you back its retail cost. But gym memberships entail a bigger lump sum output with hidden costs like gas, parking and drive time.

For those who prefer privacy, exercise videos are a definite pro. Starting a program can be awkward and if we're not used to certain movements or holding set counts, we easily get self-conscious and lose motivation.
